Remote programming…
Online programming…
Virtual programming…
Personalized programming…
You may have heard one or all of these terms thrown around and I’m going to talk about how we use remote programming in our practice. We see many clients in person in the clinic and we also work with many clients remotely via personalized programming.
What is it?
Remote programming consists of workouts written 100% for you. These are personalized to your goals, your fitness level, your equipment available, your time available… and are written weekly, sent to an app on your phone for you to complete on your time. Every week, your workouts will include specific movements, videos, dosing and descriptions.
Ex: Front squat
4 sets of 8, 65#, 3 second pause at the bottom, rest 60 seconds between sets
Who is it for?
This is for anyone! High school athletes, pregnant or postpartum women, those busy with their careers, those looking for some motivation, those without time to think about what to do when they go to workout, those with fitness goals, those looking to stay active. Any one of any age!
Many of our clients start with physical therapy and transition to remote programming as they finish their plan of care. Many are looking for a bit of a hybrid option so we work out a plan of a combination of physical therapy and remote programming. Many are simply looking to be guided in their fitness journey so everything is completed remotely! We talk through this with every client before getting started to figure out a plan that works for you. It may be 2 days/week at home with minimal equipment, 4x/week at a gym with all the equipment, on the road for work or adjusting to travel plans… that’s the beauty of it. We check in weekly to adjust as needed to what your life is looking like and how you are feeling.
Who writes my program?
We are all physical therapists. All of our physical therapists are also CrossFit coaches. While this is a methodology we find a lot of value in and may utilize principles of in your programming, you DO NOT have to do CrossFit to work with us. We also have two women’s health physical therapists with an abundance of experience in helping women remain active or return to activity while pregnant or postpartum.
